a collection of black and white snapshots from the forties through the seventies

This is my favorite snapshot. There was a McDonald's just like this one on the corner where I grew up in Memphis. I remember waiting in the car while my mom went in and got cheeseburgers and those smooshy fries.
That is great. I can smell the french fries from here. The first McDonalds was built in one of the Chicago suburbs and my uncle actually worked on the welding during the construction. His claim to fame. That -- and the fact he looked a lot like Elvis!
I consider vintage photographs to be extroardinary pieces of art. There is just something about a black and white photograph from the fifties that can evoke strong emotion as I think about a time when the pace of life was slower and America was full of promise.
I tend to seek out certain subjects and oddities in my quest to add to my collection of over 4,000 snapshots.
I am drawn to vacation photos, especially snapshots taken from inside a car; snapshots that include shadows of onlookers; diners and storefronts; girls with cars and crime scenes.
I am a court reporter by trade so the latter just comes natural.
You can find me browsing flea markets and searching through tag sales most any weekend, in search of the "great find." Please stop in often and I am constantly adding to my online collection.
